High School: Memorial Senior High School

College: Texas Christian University

Timeline: Summer 2014 - May 2016

Highlights: Elley began regular sessions the summer following her Sophomore year of high school.  Eventually, she was sustaining all As in her classes without regular help. Elley developed into a wonderful writer and received an award for outstanding writing from her Junior year English III teacher.  Once Elley could sustain her academics independently, sessions focused on college applications (essays, resumes, short-answer sections, school matching, interview prep) and test prep.  Elley was able to improve her ACT Composite score by over 4 points, move up two quarters in class rank, and gain early admission into Texas Christian University.

Accepted School/Major: McCombs School of Business, Business

Highlights: Sarah was proud to share that she got accepted into every single college and university that she applied to.  Sarah applied as a business major to Baylor, UT Austin, University of Georgia, and Texas A&M University.

My name is Sarah and I am graduating Memorial High School in the year 2017. I am attending The University of Texas in Austin the fall and will be majoring in business. My experience with Maya has been incredible. She helped me with my college resume and my college essays. She not only is a genius when it comes to writing and editing, but she is very sincere and helpful. Maya makes sure to get to know you as a person so she has a clear understanding of how you feel about a topic and the overall message you want to convey to a college. Maya guided me in writing a well written essay while keeping the message and details I thought to be important. Maya was the first tutor I have used and she’s the best. I would recommend her to anyone.

I can honestly say that I am certain our lives would be very different without the help of Maya!  She has tutored all 3 of our children, having assisted not only with school work, but the entire college application process from A-Z. She has taught our children study skills, test taking skills and has since become a life long friend!  I could not recommend anyone more than Maya as a tutor, a mentor and a friend!

My children are currently in the 7th and 8th grades at the St. John’s School and Maya has been tutoring them in Latin for almost three years. She clarifies the classroom instruction and reinforces key concepts – grammar, translation, and memorization. She also helps them with test preparation and organization. Maya is incredibly thorough, patient, and flexible with scheduling. She has been an incredible asset and I highly recommend her.
